Memoir Describes Triumph Over Aortic Disease

Barefoot in November tells the story of Benjamin Carey’s triumph over the diagnosis and surgical repair of an aortic aneurysm, culminating in his completion of the New York Marathon one year later.  Amy Yasbeck says the book is “touching and inspiring”.

Aortic Disease Survivor Tackles Triathlons

Aortic disease survivor Benjamin Carey has an inspiring story of surviving aortic disease and open heart surgery to go on and participate in triathlons (with his cardiovascular surgeon!).  His experience with aortic disease led him to create a blog (www.heartosaurus.com).
